On Saturday, April 28, 2012, Harold Garde’s poetic masterpiece, Iconoclass, was unveiled at a private reception for the first time since its first showing over 35 years ago.
The event coincided with a Strappo exhibit opening and featured the original Iconoclass work in the lower Main Gallery, as well the showing of the film “Harold Garde: Still Painting” in the museum’s theater. 39 Strappo Mono Prints by Harold Garde were on exhibit, along with an exhibit of area artists who work with the Strappo method.
Now part of the Museum of Art – Deland’s permanent collection, the 8′ x 24′ mural was copied and transferred digitally to vinyl and laminated on aluminum panels, which were then permanently installed on the Museum of Art – Deland’s front outside façade.
The Museum of Art – Deland is located at 600 North Woodland Boulevard in DeLand, Florida.
